How can I complain about a Starboard Lounge user?
Starboard Lounge is a social networking website. It is aimed for anyone working or sailing on cruise ships, boats or yachts as well as those who used to work aboard and want to find or keep in touch with old friends all over the world, but everyone is welcome to become a member.
How much does membership cost?
It's totaly free. You can sign up, create a profile and use the whole site absolutely free.
Simply click on the Sign up now button on the home page and follow the instructions. You will need a valid email address in order to be able to join Starboard Lounge.
If you already have an account, use the sign in window on the home page, enter your username and password and click the Sign in button.
Your username is whatever you specified during your sign up process with Starboard Lounge.
Forgot my sign in details. How do I retreive them?
Click on the Forgot your password? link on the home page and follow the instructions.
What do I do if I don't receive a confirmation email after signup?
If you registered using a web based email account like Hotmail or Yahoo then please check your trash or junk folder for the confirmation email. If you can't find the confirmation email anywhere, send us a message to admin@atarboardlounge.com stating your problem along with the following information: Your browser type and version (e.g. Internet Explorer v7.0), your operating system (e.g. Windows 7) and version and email account provider (e.g. Hotmail).
How do I make sure that the computer doesn't save my login and password?
Make sure that the checkbox “Remember me” on your sign in page is not ticked. You also need to remove any saved passwords from your browser. To remove saved passwords:
In Firefox:
- Go to “Tools” → “Options” → Select the “Security” tab, and then “Saved Passwords...”
- On the new window that opens click "Show passwords"
- Select the username you want to delete from the list for the site: http://www.starboardlounge.com
- Click “Remove” and then “Close”
In Internet Explorer:
- Go to “Tools” → “Internet options” → Select “Content” tab
- Click the "Settings" button under the “AutoComplete” heading
- Tick only the “User names and passwords on forms” check box and then click the Delete AutoComplete history“
How do I get the computer to save my email and password?
Make sure that the check box “Remember me” on your sign in page is ticked. Also if your browser displays a message offering to remember your password choose the option to remember your password.
What do I do if I get an “Unrecognized username or password” message?
First make sure your caps lock is off and that you've entered everything correctly. If you are still receiving this error message, try closing the browser and opening it again or clearing the cache. If it still does not work, click on the Forgot your password? link on the home page and follow the instructions for requesting a new password.

How do I change my profile details?
If you wish to change any of your personal details you registered with including your profile photo, sign in to Starboard Lounge and go to My Lounge → Edit Profile. The options to change your details are on that page.
How do I change my email address?
If you wish to change your email address, sign in to Starboard Lounge and go to My Lounge → Edit Profile. The option to change your email address is on that page.
If you wish to change your password, sign in to Starboard Lounge and go to My Lounge → Edit Profile. The option to change your password is on that page.
Message alerts are messages sent to your email address that alert you when you receive a private message from another user. You can disable this feature on the My Messages → Message Alerts page.
If you wish to delete your profile, sign in to Starboard Lounge and go to My Lounge → Edit Profile. At the bottom of the page there is "Delete" button. Click on it to delete your profile.
Can I retreive my deleted profile?
All data that is being deleted will be backed up for 12 weeks and permanently deleted afterwards.
If you wish to reactivate your account during this 12 week period, please send us an email to admin@atarboardlounge.com.
If you wish to join Starboard Lounge again after the 12 week period you will need to create a new account from scratch.

You can search for friends by clicking on the Search for friends link using the menu on the left
On this search page you can search by a few different criterias to find people you know.
After finding people, how can I add them to "My Friends" list in "My Lounge"?
At the bottom right corner of each user’s profile, there is a button called "Add to Friends", click on this button and type a message to that user. Once you send your request, that user will be added to your list of friends as soon as he or she accepts your invitation.
How do I delete people in "My Friends" list?
At the bottom right corner of each user’s profile in your "My Friends" list, there is a button called "Remove", click on this button to remove that person from your list of friends.
How do I send someone a message?
Find the person you want to contact and click the “Send PM” button in their profile, or go to "My Messages" using the menu on the left and click on the Write new message tab. The "To" field has an autocomplete feature, so as soon as you start typing a username you will be presented with a list of all the users that you can send a message to.
How do I know when I have a new message?
When you receive a new message, you will receive a notification email to the email address saved in your profile as long as you have enabled your Message alerts in your profile. Alternatively you can always click on My Messages in the menu on the left and any new messages will show up in bold in the list of your messages on that page.
Go to My Messages using the menu on the left and click on any messages in your list that you wish to read. Once you click on a message, you will be shown the whole message thread for that message from the beginning. You can also use this feature as a messanger for live chats.

On Starboard Lounge each member gets their own blog. To start posting to your blog, click on My Blog using the menu on the left and click on Post new blog entry. On the page that opens you can create your own blog.
On each user's blog page there is an RSS icon. Click on that icon to RSS a user's blog.
Using the menu on the left, click on What are you up to? You can type in a short message about what you are doing or where you are. This message will apear at the top of your profile page for all to see. You can update your status message as often as you like.
Can I buy any Starboard Lounge merchandise?
Yes. Using the menu on the left, click on Starboard Lounge Gift Shop and you will be taken to our online gift shop. We will constantly be adding new products and designs, so please check back every now and then to see what's new.
How can I complain about a Starboard Lounge user?
You can report any abuse by emailing us on support@starboardloung.com If you wish to complain about a user, please email us with details of the issue to help us resolve it.
